With my interests in software engineering and embedded systems, I've developed and integrated source code with various languages for different projects from a maze-solving robot to custom expercise peripherals that interact with a desktop app.
My junior design project, the robot is designed to solve a 16x16 maze. I developed the motor controller and sensor system on a dsPIC33F microcontroller in C.
The motor controller utilizes two timer interrupt service routines with PD tracking control. Sensor reading handled with a 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter. Maze-solving accomplished with a flood-fill algorithm.
My sophomore design project, Local Lingo was developed using the Android SDK and Android Studio and features custom listboxes and GPS tracking. A user can contribute to a library of words with their region-specific meaning for others to view.
The app utilizes the HTML transport layer using XML-RPC libraries to write and read data to a PostgreSQL database. I wrote custom data adapter Psycopg2 functions written in Python.
My senior design project, Chairactive is a system that encourages exercising for people in sedentary work environments. The system is composed of a desktop app and an Android app complemented by an office chair with strategically placed pressure sensors and a remote with gyrometer and accelerometer sensors.
The desktop app I created has the ability to lock computer peripherals and provide live feedback as the user performs exercises with the chair or remote. In addition, I designed the Android app to visualize live sensor readings and created PostgreSQL database tables to hold motion sensor data.
Through content editing and music selection, I create videos with the intention of framing stories or ideas with a fresh perspective.
